‘Pearls of Wisdom: 30 Inspirational Ideas to Live Your Best Life Now!’

Every inspirational chapter connected with me in some way. I’d like to share two inspirational ideas that strongly resonated with me.

As a mompreneur, life can get pretty crazy. Between a family that includes my husband, 2 busy, BUSY boys (ages 9 and 6) and a hands-on business, it can be tough to get a moment of peace.

When I reached the chapter ‘Daily Cup of Calm’, by Kelle Sutliff, I thought to myself, “Yes, please show me how to bring some calm into my life!” Almost immediately, any sense of calm vanished as my boys came home from school. And so just as Kelle suggests, I locked myself in the bathroom and claimed it as my sacred spot for the next few minutes (I couldn’t wait for the next morning to do this.). For the first time in years, I felt a sense of calm, never before experienced, and within just a matter of minutes. My intention is to put Kelle’s quick exercise into daily practice right away and learning how to relax; if only for a few minutes!

‘Take a Family Sabbatical’ by Lisa Merrai Labon also connected with me. For several years my husband and I have chatted about how incredible it would be to sell everything and travel with our boys – either across Europe, or South America. While the thought excites us, it also terrifies us … would we ever get back on both feet again financially? The steps Lisa outlined to creating your own family sabbatical have brought this interest back to the front of our minds. I’m look forward to discovering a renewed definition of success and the enduring bond with my family, just as you described.

I love how this book offers so many nuggets of inspiration. I’m looking forward to rereading each chapter and allowing it to contribute to positive life changes, while following my passions.
